contagion (2011) is a cinematic masterpiece for many reasons but it’s shining moment is matt damon sitting in his bedroom looking at photos of his wife and sobbing while his daughter is downstairs dancing with her boyfriend having the first good day of her life in about a year and he comes downstairs and his eyes are red but he and his daughter share this smile while she slow dances and then it immediately cuts to that horrifying bat & pig score showing exactly how the virus was formed and then the credits roll
fucking phenomenal.
