Space Komodo Dragons
I feel like a more fitting analogy for humans is the komodo dragon…
Just like humans, komodo dragons are persistence hunters, but before they follow their prey they bite them. The dragons don’t maim their prey or get into intense fights like felines, they just sink their teeth in once or twice. To my understanding (though I haven’t done in depth research) komodo dragons aren’t venomous, their saliva is just so dirty and disease ridden that one bite will eventually kill its victim. The dragon then follows the thing it’s bitten for as long as it takes before the animal either collapses or dies from an infection.
What if all we need to do in the future is bite our enemies and wait as our genuinely vile and microbe ridden saliva slowly destroys them. We could be the komodo dragons of space.
