Ok So I know I just posted this but I had a shower and thought of their Backstory™.
Émile fell in love with the son of a vampire hunter who thought himself a bit of a scientist. Fast forward 6 years to the son dying bc he tried to turn them both into vampos however Émile- who had no idea it was happening- survived and dug themself out of a hunters grave. They were understandably confused and upset.
